Core Working Principle
Aluminum Foil Layer: Reflects radiant heat, helping reduce temperature rise caused by direct sunlight and high-temperature surface radiation.
Bubble / EPE Layer: Provides thermal insulation by trapping still air, effectively reducing heat conduction and blocking heat exchange between hot and cold surfaces.
Sealed Composite Structure: Offers excellent waterproof and moisture resistance. It prevents vapor penetration, helping avoid condensation, mold growth, and water dripping on walls or pipelines.

Common Types
Single Bubble:A thinner structure designed for applications where space is limited and moderate thermal performance is required. It is commonly used in regions with mild climates or projects with strict thickness limitations.
Double Bubble:Consists of two layers of air bubbles, providing higher thermal resistance (R-value) compared with single bubble products. It is suitable for more extreme climates or applications requiring enhanced insulation performance.
Note:During installation, reflective bubble insulation typically requires a certain air space to maximize its radiant heat reflection performance. When installed directly against another material without an air gap, its reflective thermal performance will be significantly reduced.
Industry Installation & Application Guidelines
Industry experts emphasize that the performance of reflective bubble insulation is highly dependent on proper installation methods.
Importance of Air Space
An air space is the key factor in achieving the expected thermal resistance (R-value). The radiant barrier effect works most effectively when the reflective surface faces an open air cavity. Without a proper air gap, the effective R-value and radiant heat reflection performance will be greatly limited.
Condensation Control Applications
In metal buildings, reflective bubble insulation is widely recognized as an effective thermal separation layer. It helps prevent condensation by reducing direct contact between warm, humid indoor air and cold metal roofing surfaces.
Advantages in Specific Industries
HVAC Systems:
For narrow equipment rooms and duct insulation applications, reflective bubble insulation offers advantages such as fast installation, minimal thickness, and excellent space efficiency. Unlike compressed fiberglass insulation, it maintains its performance without requiring significant thickness.
Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings:
Commonly installed beneath metal roofs or above ceiling systems as a lightweight insulation solution. It helps reduce cooling loads and improves indoor thermal comfort while maintaining easy installation and handling.
